Animal Farm is an undisputed classic of modern literature. For anyone that hasn’t read it, it’s a satire of post-revolution Russia set in a farmyard. Animals and politics, it’s like Orwell knew what the internet was going to become. Despite the excellence of the text, this book’s main attraction is its illustrations. Ralph Steadman, most famous for the cover of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has turned his twisted pen to Orwell’s creations. Like all Steadman illustrations they are creepy and vaguely disgusting and perfectly sum up the disturbing atmosphere of Orwell’s novel.
