The First World War

WWIThe First World War was really the first war in which all levels of serving men were literate. This had a profound effect on the amount of literature produced about the experience but also the tone of that literature. As we are in the centenary year of the war starting we have collected together some of the books that have been written about this momentous period of the twentieth century. This little collection includes the standard poetry and memoirs that you might find on a school syllabus but also bound copies of The Illustrated War News and Winston Churchill’s history of The Great War.
