This month we will be discussing Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck on Wednesday the 19th of November.
Of Mice and Men is, of course, a modern classic that most people read in school but it is much more than just something your teachers insist you plough through. It is a touching work about friendship and loneliness and the fundamental ways that people behave around one another. It is also a important book about poverty and society wracked by the Great Depression. Hopefully plenty to get everyone talking.
We’ll be meeting in the shop at 7.30pm. Tea and coffee will be provided but you fancy something a little stronger please bring your own.
We don’t require any commitment so if you don’t fancy this book or you’re not available this month you can always come next time.
Questions and suggestions for our next book are always welcome.
