6th of December: Snow

This print is taken from “In The Beginning” Said Great Aunt Jane by Helen Bradley. The copy this picture is from was published in 1975. 6th

The snow came down a few days before Christmas. Grandma, the aunts, Mother with George and me, Miss Carter and Mrs Maitland and Emily, went down Milking Green to gather ivy for Great-Aunt Jane to decorate her house. We took her our gifts also because she lived up Springhead and whilst the weather was good we thought it best to go and wish her Happy Christmas. Walking back through the quiet lanes we heard Church Bells ringing out that it would soon be Christmas. We were sure God was very happy for we could feel there was peace and quietness everywhere.
