9th of December: Plaice

This print is taken from The Rajah’s Emerald by Agatha Christie which was published in The Great Book of Humour in 1935. Unfortunately we couldn’t find and credit the illustrator. The picture, rather oddly, shows a young man called James Bond who is possibly in the process of discovering that he has accidentally stolen the eponymous emerald. I am a particular fan of the expression on the face of the waitress.
